Light Snow Expected Sunday Morning For The Charleston Region

snow in CharlestonAn unexpected storm has moved into the low country and the National Weather Service is now expecting some snow to come with it. Heavy rain will be falling throughout Saturday night and is now expected to turn to snow Sunday morning as temperatures continue to drop.

“It’ll be moving up the coast. It’s one of those (storm) systems where we can potentially get more accumulation along the coast than farther inland,” according to meteorologist Jonathan Lamb with the National Weather Service.

A total of an inch of precipitation is expected to fall, both in rain and snow, lasting from Saturday night until Sunday afternoon.. The best chance to see snow will be from about 4 a.m. until noon.

Lows will remain in the 30s through the 50s over the next week.
